Homeopathic Medicine For Diarrhea?

When thin, loose and watery stools occur 3-4 times a day and continue for a few weeks, one is said to have diarrhea.

Diarrhea is accompanied by abdominal pain (colic) which lessens as the stool gets passed.

It is a non-serious condition lasting for 2-3 days  and may heal even without any treatment. But when it extends on for weeks, medical help becomes necessary.

In young children diarrhea is usually caused due to viral infections. 

Acute Diarrhea: 

Lasts for 1-2 days and resolves on its own. It is normally caused by bacteria, virus or parasites.

Chronic Diarrhea: 

The symptoms may persist for more than a few days and may indicate the presence of an underlying disease or condition. 

If timely treatment is not taken, diarrhea may also lead to dehydration. In case of people having a weak immune system, or who are young adults and young children, dehydration can be life threatening.

Infection

Can cause severe diarrhea, fever, dehydration, vomiting.

Side effect of medications

Certain antibiotics, antacids and diabetes medications can cause diarrhea.

Diarrhea is common among children and following symptoms indicate immediate medical attention

  • Blood and pus in stool
  • Diarrhea lasting more than 48 hrs
  • Rash
  • Fever above 38 degree Celsius
  • Pain in abdomen
  • Pale looking

 

Normally it is common and not severe if timely treatment is taken.

But when this continues for a long duration and happens multiple times a day.

Here,  it indicates that there is some underlying cause that needs to be addressed.
