Homeopathic Remedy of Allergies
When our immune system detects any foreign agent or allergens as a potential harm- such as parasites or bacteria present in the environment, it triggers the formation of Immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies. These antibodies, in turn, generate a chemical histamine to prevent the infection from spreading in the body.
This abrupt behavior is then visible in the form of symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, nausea, coughing, vomiting, hay fever, etc as well. Some common allergens that can create these symptoms include dust mites, pollen, soy, milk, seafood, mould, etc.
The immune system carries out all these tasks by creating an immunological memory.
In many scenarios, you can develop the sensitivity for agents that may have no effect on you earlier. Why? As our immune system may take time to remember the allergen for which it is not reacting now. Then over time, it develops sensitivity for this allergen and starts triggering antibodies to neutralize its effects. This process is known as sensitization.

How does the immune system know which allergens are harmful?
Simply, by remembering which antibodies were created on its previous exposure.
This is why vaccines are so effective in raising our immunity for certain kinds of diseases even before coming in contact with the actual allergen.
Anyone of the forms such as a weak microbe, or a slightly similar form, its killed forms or its surface proteins is introduced into the body to create an immunological memory and hence antibodies in advance for a particular disease .
Now, in future when your body meets the actual allergen of this disease, the immune system starts producing a more appropriate antibody response.
The other function of our immune system is to discard the antibodies that are autoimmune to self. This process occurs efficiently but certain times it not and can attack the body back causing various autoimmune disorders.
This deformed behavior can also respond to the non-harmful allergens present in the environment as well such as pollen, dust, mold, etc.
Allergy remedy in homeopathy
The conventional treatments work by reducing the effect of allergens by prescribing drugs containing antihistamines, steroids, and decongestants which are obviously harmful as they are just treating the outer symptoms and can also harm your immune system.
As all allergies like hay fever or allergic rhinitis stem from a disturbed immune system. Homeopathy will try to reduce the allergic effect by studying the underlying cause and taking the immune system into consideration.
Allergy remedy in homeopathy tries to calm down the hypersensitive effect of the immune system by not just treating the sensitivity to the allergen but also raising the inner immunity.
Many times two patients with similar illnesses may require entirely different homeopathic remedies. Therefore, self medication is not recommended as the best symptom specific remedy, right frequency, improvisations as and when necessary can be well performed by an experienced homeopath.
